Kaohsiung offers subsidies for "smart agriculture"

Kaohsiung’s Agriculture Bureau is promoting smart farming through a subsidy
program aimed at helping modernize the agricultural sector.



The program covers items such as smart sensing systems, environmental control
systems, smart production equipment, and related services.

Applications are open through April 30th.

At a matchmaking event held yesterday, 14 companies showcased products, and
nearly 100 farmers and businesses took part,.

Agriculture officials said Kaohsiung has developed 133 smart farms over the
past five years, covering more than 1,300 hectares.

Through continued matchmaking events, the city aims to expand that to over
170 sites and 1,400 hectares this year, while helping farmers address
challenges and connect with private-sector solutions.
