Police officers injured and two arrested in clashes during Dajia Mazu

Three police officers were injured, and two suspects arrested after clashes broke out in Changhua as the annual Dajia Mazu pilgrimage passed through the city this past weekend.
According to police in Changhua, the three officers were injured when they tried to intervene in a dispute that erupted among members of a group welcoming the procession.
Two suspects were arrested at the scene.
The Changhua Police Precinct says other individuals involved in the violent are still being identified and will be summoned for questioning following a review of surveillance footage from the area.
Another altercation along the procession route in Changhua was quickly brought under control and two men were detained then.
Authorities are reiterating a zero-tolerance stance on violence during this year's Dajia Mazu pilgrimage ..
.. and the National Police Agency has condemned "troublemakers that undermined public authority" - saying such actions will be clamped down on those responsible held accountable.
The Dajia Mazu pilgrimage began last Friday and will end this coming Sunday.
