Mynah birds use Keelung's traffic lights as nests

Over in Kaohsiung's Qidu District ...

... mynah birds (八哥鳥) have been building nests on top of traffic lights
along the Chi-shyan (七賢) Bridge ...

... and officials are urging everyone not to approach the nests or drive them
away.

The city's Animal Protection and Quarantine Bureau says mynah birds are
currently in breeding season ...

... and that they tend to choose elevated, sheltered spots like traffic
lights, which offer both safety and favorable conditions for raising their
young.

Officials add that unless the nests pose a risk to traffic safety or signal
operation, they will be left undisturbed until the chicks mature and leave
the nest naturally.
