Health authorities say a recent rise in food safety incidents across Taiwan is not a systemic issue.
The Food and Drug Administration says cases reported since the Tomb Sweeping holiday show no common supply chain.
Instead, officials believe they were caused by management failures at individual businesses.
The agency says 66 cases were reported between April 1st and 16th.
But officials say that it's only slightly above levels in recent years ... if the unusual spike from 2024's Polam Kopitiam food poisoning incident is excuded.
The FDA says it will strengthen cross-county reporting and inspections.
Officials stress Taiwan's overall food safety system remains intact, whilst urging businesses to tighten self-management.
