The DPP is urging calm following concerns from the general public over the possibility of Taiwan opening to some Indian migrant workers later this year.
DPP Legislative Caucus leader Fan Yun said they would strictly supervise any future developments and added that they're hoping the public would not discriminate against any one people or country.
The Ministry of Labor previously said that the first batch of migrant workers from India may arrive this year.
Minister Hong Shen Han also reiterated that opening up to Indian migrant workers has bipartisan support...
and said that these workers must both fill a need by local businesses and also be properly vetted by New Delhi.
