NDF Says No Plans to Sell TSMC Shares

The National Development Fund says it has no plans to sell its holdings in
TSMC, even as the contract chipmaker's stock reaches record highs.

Deputy chair Kao Shien-quey (高仙桂) says after years of stock and cash
dividends, the government's cost basis for its TSMC shares is now almost
zero.

The fund currently holds around a 6.5 percent stake in the company, making it
one of the largest shareholders.

Officials say TSMC remains a core strategic asset, given its key role in the
global semiconductor supply chain.

They add that no shares have been sold in recent years, and there are no
short-term plans to do so.
