Taiwan Machinery Industry Marks 14 Months of Growth

Taiwan's machinery industry is seeing strong momentum, with exports in March
reaching nearly 2.97 billion U-S dollars.

That's a jump of about 28 percent from February, and marks 14 consecutive
months of growth.

The Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry says demand for semiconductor
and AI-related equipment continues to drive exports, particularly in
electronic equipment.

Despite disruptions caused by the U-S-Israel war on Iran .... including
shipping delays and higher energy costs, officials say the impact on March
exports has been limited.

Electronic equipment exports saw strong gains, rising more than 70 percent
year-on-year, helping boost overall industry performance.

However, the association warns that global uncertainty remains, and a
relatively strong Taiwan dollar compared with weaker regional currencies
could continue to weigh on export competitiveness.
