Premier Chuo Jung-tai is calling on the Legislative Yuan to pass a flood control budget of 14-billion-700-million NT for this year following heavy rain that caused widespread flooding last week.
The April 4th downpour triggered flooding at 86 locations across Hsinchu, Miaoli, and Taichung.
Most affected areas drained within two hours, with flood depths generally between 10 and 30 centimeters.
The Water Resources Agency chief says the recent rain has boosted reservoir levels across the north and center of the island.
Hsinchu remains on a yellow-light reduced water pressure advisory, though nighttime restrictions have been eased by two hours.
Officials are also monitoring a new landslide dam on the He-huan (合歡) River in Nantou's Ren'ai Township, though no immediate threat to residents has been identified.
