Starlux Airlines says it will launch direct flights between Taipei and the Indonesian island of Bali starting October 1st, with tickets now on sale.
The Taiwan-based carrier says the route will initially offer five flights per week, operated by Airbus A321neo aircraft.
Starlux CEO Glenn Chai says Bali has long been a popular destination for international travelers, including those from Taiwan and Western markets.
He adds that as the airline expands its long-haul network to North America and Europe, it expects to attract more transit passengers connecting through Taiwan to Bali — boosting traffic between Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia.
Following the launch, Starlux will serve more than 13 destinations across Southeast Asia.
The airline is also preparing to open new routes to Busan in South Korea on June 1st, and to Prague on August 1st — its first destination in Europe.
