NTaipei Bento Shop Shut Down Amid Food Poisoning Cluster

A bento shop in New taipei has been ordered to suspend operations after a
suspected food poisoning outbreak affecting two dozen customers.

A local hospital confirms that they have treated 24 patients linked to the
outbreak at two branches of the shop as of 11 a.m. today.

Health officials have collected samples for laboratory testing and inspectors
yesterday also cited the shops for improperly handled waste and failure to
maintain required health checks for food workers.

New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih the business will not be allowed to reopen
until it passes a reinspection.

And if the outbreak is confirmed as a food poisoning case, the operator could
be referred to prosecutors for violations of food safety laws.
