A U-S Republican congressional delegation is visiting Taiwan this week for talks with senior officials, including President Lai Ching-te.
The group is led by Congressman Zach Nunn and includes three other representatives.
The visit runs through Saturday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussions will focus on Taiwan-U.S. relations, regional security, trade cooperation, and developments in the Taiwan Strait.
The delegation is part of the Republican Study Committee, a caucus of conservative lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Its National Security Task Force, led by Nunn, focuses on defense policy and promotes what it calls a "peace through strength" approach.
Taiwan says the visit highlights continued engagement between Taipei and Washington on key security and economic issues.
