The Health Promotion Administration is warning of a strong link between secondhand smoke and ADHD in children.
The H-P-A pointed to a 2019 study in Egypt to say that nearly 90 percent of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder had been exposed to secondhand smoke.
The H-P-A said it showed a clear link between the environment and the disorder.
Researchers also noted as exposure grew longer and more intense, the severity of the symptoms increased as well.
Experts stress that children are especially vulnerable, with secondhand smoke linked not only to behavioral issues but also to long-term health risks.
The agency is urging parents to quit smoking, calling it one of the best ways to protect children's health.
They also remind everyone that even indirect exposure to lingering smoke indoors can still be harmful to health.
