Taiwan to Hold Electricity Prices Steady in April

Electricity prices in Taiwan will remain unchanged starting in April.

The Electricity Price Review Committee made the decision at its first meeting
of the year, citing ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East and global trade
conditions.

Officials say keeping rates steady will help stabilize consumer prices and
maintain industrial competitiveness.

The average electricity rate will stay at 3-point-7-8-2-3 NT per
kilowatt-hour.

The government had raised rates slightly last September, while freezing
prices for industrial users.

Authorities say they will continue monitoring global energy trends before
making any future adjustments.
