Household gas, LPG prices to be frozen in April: Cabinet

The Cabinet has rolled out new measures to stabilize prices amid rising global energy costs linked to Middle East tensions.
At a price stabilization meeting, Vice Premier Cheng Li-chiun approved steps including keeping household natural gas and LPG prices unchanged in April.
Officials say these costs are closely tied to food and dining prices, and stabilizing them is key to controlling inflation.
The government will also freeze fertilizer prices and work with suppliers to keep LPG prices steady.
Authorities have been told to monitor supplies of daily necessities, including plastic bags, and ensure stable access to medical goods.
Recent disruptions in petrochemical supplies, linked to conflict in the Middle East, have already caused shortages.
The Cabinet says Taiwan's energy reserves remain sufficient, with natural gas supplies secured through May, and additional imports planned from June.
