Huang: TPP will not remove Ke

TPP Chair Huang Kuo-chang says, the party will absolutely not remove founder
Ke Wen Zhe from the membership rosters...

following Ke's being sentenced to 17 years behind bars on corruption and
embezzlement charges.

Huang also accused the DPP of carrying out political persecution against Ke.

At a press conference this morning, reporters pointed out that Hsinchu Mayor
Gao Hong An quit the party soon after she was sentenced to jail time in a
first ruling.

But Huang says party discipline is meant to address violations of internal
integrity rules, not to deal with party members facing political persecution.

Huang is also calling on TPP supporters and all those upholding justice for
all to gather at Ketagalan boulevard on Sunday to protest the sentence.
