Anti-nuclear groups are protesting purported plans by the Lai administration to reopen two decommissioned nuclear power plants.
It's the second time this week that anti-nuclear protesters have voiced their anger over the move - as a similar protest took place outside the D-P-P headquarters on Wednesday.
An alliance of political parties opposed to a return to nuclear powers as also been vocal in its opposition to the move.
They argue that amendments to the Nuclear Reactor Facilities Regulation Act made last year do not mean the nuclear power plants can simply be brought back on-line, but act as legislative basis for the continuation of operations after entering the decommissioning stage.
The alliance is calling on the government to cease making plans to restart the plants and to withdraw Tai-Power's ongoing feasibility review process.
The D-P-P is insisting the government has no immediate plans to restart the plants and comments by Lai and senior government officials are based on "contingency plans."
