Taipei Expanding Program for Motorcycles to Park in Scooter Spaces

Taipei transportation officials are expanding a pilot program for heavy
motorcycles parking at 24 public parking garages starting next month.

Officials say starting April 6th, heavy motorcycles can park diagonally
across two standard scooter spots.

Owners will be charged twice the standard scooter rate for that specific
garage.

Large motorcycles have traditionally been required to park in car stalls,
leading to complaints from drivers about wasted space.

Participating garages will post signs at their entrances to let riders know
they can use the scooter zones.

The parking spots inside will also be clearly marked for shared use.
