Officials Debunk False Claims on Taiwan Gas Supply

Authorities are warning of a wave of misinformation claiming Taiwan's natural gas supply is at risk due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Officials say the rumors, widely shared on social media, falsely suggest Taiwan could run out of gas within days.
The government has rejected those claims, stressing that current LNG reserves remain stable and supply sources are diversified.
Minister of Economic Affairs Kung Ming-hsin earlier had said that an imminent shortage is 'impossible', noting that Taiwan imports energy from multiple countries.
Authorities also warn some of the content may be part of coordinated efforts to stir public anxiety and undermine confidence in energy security.
