Although the Taipei District Court has delivered its ruling in the Core Pacific City and political donations cases, former Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je’s legal troubles are far from over.
Taipei prosecutors have launched a separate probe into possible violations of the Anti-Corruption Act related to Ko and his wife's unexplained sources of property.
During his tenure as Taipei mayor, his government was allegedly involved in the Bei-tou Shi-lin Technology Park's land rights disputes, and Ko has been listed as a defendant.
Prosecutors are also looking into several influence peddling cases regarding two wholesale markets and a private company.
Ko and current TPP chair Huang Guo-chang are currently holding a press conference at NTU Hospital International Convention Center.
