New Taipei's Feitsui Reservoir is currently at 90-percent capacity, and is helping ease pressure from declining levels at Shi-men Reservoir by supplying water through downstream pipeline networks.
The Feitsui Reservoir Administration says rainfall in its catchment area has reached only about 70 percent of the historical average so far this year, but the reservoir's water level remains high due to careful water management.
Taoyuan's Shi-men Reservoirs, on the other hand, is just over half of its capacity at the moment.
As Shi-men supplies water to New Taipei, Taoyuan and Hsin-chu, the Administration has begun sending 780-thousand tons of water to the city's Ban-qiao and Xin-zhuang districts every day to ease Shi-men's burden.
Water levels at the two Hsin-chu reservoirs, Bao-shan (寶山) and Bao-Er (寶二), have dropped to just above 20 percent.
Officials are urging the public to conserve water as the dry spell continues.
