Former CPC Refinery division CEO Xu Han, who was arrested in Tai-tung last night, has been detained without communications.
The Qiao-tou District Court said this morning that Xu could flee again or collude with accomplices and witnesses, and that the charges laid against him are serious.
Xu jumped bail on the 19th by removing his electronic ankle bracelet and took a train from Kaohsiung to Ping-tung.
He had remained missing until police found him hiding at a bed and breakfast in Taitung's Tai-mai-li together with his driver last night.
That's after the Court sentenced him to 25 years of imprisonment yesterday morning for corruption and other offenses.
According to prosecutors, Xu made over 17 million NT in illegal profits by asking for bribe money from contractors in his capacity as the CPC official between 2019 and 2022.
He was released on 5-million-NT bail in 2023, but then put under electronic monitoring in May last year.
