Taiwan urges Denmark to correct designation or face consequences

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is urging Denmark to correct its
classification of Taiwanese nationals on residence permits.

It also warns of possible countermeasures without elaborating.

Officials say Denmark currently lists Taiwanese citizens as 'China', a move
Taipei has condemned as inaccurate and inconsistent with democratic values.

The ministry says it has repeatedly raised the issue with Copenhagen over the
years, but has received no response.

According to a Danish-language newspaper, Denmark is the only European Union
member state that lists Taiwanese nationality as China rather than Taiwan.
