The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has established a new trade and economic office it says is aimed at boosting ties with the island's diplomatic allies.
The ministry says the new office has been created based on public-private sector partnership approach and is based on the Central America Trade Office - which works to encourage businesses to form social enterprises.
According to Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung, twelve companies and organizations have already joined the new trade and economic office and have each provided 2-million N-T to the support the initiative.
Lin says those companies all have their own established distribution channels to promote products from Taiwan's diplomatic allies, help them receive organic certification and create local job opportunities.
The new trade and economic office is part of the government's Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project.
That project was created by the foreign minister and seeks to assist in development projects in allied countries related to smart medicine, sustainable tourism, sovereign AI and digital governance.
