S Korea says N Korea fired projectile into eastern sea

South Korea's military says North Korea has fired at least one projectile
into its eastern sea, as tensions rise around allied drills.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff didn't say if the weapon was ballistic or
how far it traveled.

The launch comes as the United States and South Korea run their annual spring
joint exercises.

North Korea has long called those drills invasion rehearsals and has used
them to justify weapons tests and other military demonstrations.
