Legislative Yuan approves four candidates for Central Election Commission

The Legislative Yuan has voted to approve the appointments of 4 candidates to
sit on the Central Election Commission.

They approved You Ying Long to head the commission, in addition to Li Li
Zhong李禮仲, Su Jia Hong蘇嘉宏, and Su Zi Qiao蘇子喬.

All four of these nominees received at least 57 votes, the minimum threshold
for approval, in their favor.

The Executive Yuan nominated seven candidates in total to fill the five
vacancies on the CEC.

The Legislature did, however, reject the three other nominations, leaving one
seat still to be filled.

The approval of these four nominees gives the commission enough members to
conevene.

KMT Legislative Caucus Whip Fu Kun Chi says that the KMT decided to reject
those other three nominations because they felt they were overly partisan.
