Government to Adjust Natural Gas Supply Plans Amid Middle East War

The Cabinet is adjusting Taiwan's energy strategy in response to rising
tensions in the Middle East.

Premier Cho Jung-tai has instructed the Ministry of Economic Affairs to
activate alternative natural gas supply operations this May ...

... followed by a scheduled increase in natural gas imports from the United
States starting in June.

Officials say the move is meant to ensure stable domestic energy supplies as
regional conflicts continue to affect global energy markets.

The ministry said Taiwan currently has sufficient energy reserves, including
oil stocks of at least ninety days and natural gas supplies of about eleven
days.

State-run CPC Corporation said it has already secured 22 shipments of
liquefied natural gas for March and April, ensuring supply during that
period.
