Taiwan Flu Cases Decline, But Severe Cases and Deaths Reported

The Centres for Disease Control reports that flu cases in Taiwan are
declining.

The latest CDC data shows that last week there were over 82 thousand
outpatient and emergency room visits for flu-like symptoms ... which is
around 15 percent less than the week before.

However, the CDC reports 13 new severe flu cases and two flu-related deaths
over the same period.

So far this season, Taiwan has seen 568 severe flu cases and 113 deaths.

Despite the drop in cases, officials say influenza viruses remain the
dominant respiratory pathogen circulating in communities across Taiwan.

Health authorities are urging anyone who has not yet received this season's
flu shot to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
