Kaohsiung Water Stoppage to Affect Several Areas Wednesday

Thousands of residents across several districts in Kaohsiung will face water
shutoffs tomorrow as crews work to repair aging pipes and fix a recent water
main burst.

The Taiwan Water Corporation says 6,800 households in the Qijin District will
be without water for eight hours tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The work follows a major pipe burst on Zhongzhou 2nd Road yesterday.

Local officials say that section of the road is currently closed for
emergency repairs.

Residents in the Sanmin and Zuoying districts will lose water for five hours
starting at midnight tonight.

While in the Tianliao, Neimen, and Qishan districts, water will be turned off
tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The water company is advising residents in the affected areas to store water
ahead of time.
