Deputy Taipei Mayor Lee Shu-chuan has officially left his post today after submitting his resignation last month.
Lee's final day at work was on Monday and he's stepping down to focus on running for the K-M-T in November's New Taipei mayoral election.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an praised Lee's contributions to his administration - crediting him with completing the Taipei Dome, the MRT Six Line 2.0 project, and securing a contract with Nvidia for its Taiwan headquarters.
Lee also met with New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih and Deputy Mayor Liu Ho-ran on Monday.
Lee has said he plans to return to New Taipei, where he is a registered resident, to "prepare for the next stage of his political career."
And told reporters on Monday that he attended numerous banquets in New Taipei City last week, and saw enthusiasm for his potential candidacy in the upcoming mayoral election.
Lee also said he feels at home in New Taipei City, especially with the support of Mayor Hou during his transition to the election campaign.
