MOFA closes Taiwan Review and to shut Taiwan Today later this year

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ceased publication of the Taiwan Review.

The government funded publication was first launched in April 1951 as the
Free China Review.

It was renamed Taipei Review in April 2000 before adopting the title Taiwan
Review in March of 2003.

The foreign ministry has also confirmed that it plans to shut down its
multilingual news portal, Taiwan Today on on December 31 of this year.

Taiwan Today was established in May of 2009 with the aim of providing daily
news services in nine languages.

The ministry says the decision to close the Taiwan Review and Taiwan Today
was made after a comprehensive review of limited resources aimed at improving
the effectiveness of Taiwan's international communications.
