Executive Yuan hopes for general budget examination rather than a la carte

The Executive Yuan says, it's hoping that the legislature will examine the
2026 general budget...

rather than moving ahead with the "a la carte" items proposed by the
opposition.

That's as the opposition bloc passed the second reading of a 71.8 billion NT
motion that isolates a select few general budget items from the central
budget.

That includes subisides for TPASS, among others.

But the Executive Yuan notes that such an action is unprecedented, and
reiterated its hope that lawmakers will prioritize the central government
budget as a whole.
