One Injured in Gas Explosion at Taichung's Jianguo Market

Local media is reporting a gas explosion at Jianguo Market in Taichung's East
District.

Emergency crews say a bottled LPG cylinder exploded around 3:30 PM, injuring
a 70-year-old vendor.

Fortunately, the victim suffered only minor scrapes and declined a trip to
the hospital.

The Taichung Fire Bureau rushed 13 vehicles and 47 personnel to the scene.

By the time they arrived, the blast was out and the cylinder was secured.

Authorities have set up a safety perimeter while they investigate the exact
cause.
