Chen Yu Zhen to run for Kinmen magistrate

KMT lawmaker Chen Yu Zhen has been named as the party's nominee for Kinmen
county magistrate.

Chen was the only candidate to declare their interest to the party.

The party is expected to formally nominate Chen tomorrow.

Chen says she looks forward to helping Kinmen break the cycle of economic
stagnation.

She added that Kinmen should shoulder the responsibility of acting as a role
model in maintaining cross-strait peace, and should fight for more exchanges
between China and Taiwan.

The DPP and TPP have not yet named any candidates in the race.
