MOFA raises travel alerts for Middle East countries affected by Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised its travel warnings for several
Middle Eastern countries affected by the ongoing regional conflict.

The travel alerts for Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi
Arabia, and Qatar have been raised from yellow to orange.

That's the second-highest level and warns people to avoid unnecessary travel
to those destinations.

The ministry had already raised the travel alert for Israel and Iran to the
highest level after Israel and the U-S launched airstrikes on Iran on
Saturday.

The ministry operates on a four-tier colour coded system.

Even though it has heightened alerts, the government has no immediate plans
to evacuate Taiwan citizens in Middle Eastern countries, as it says Iran's
retaliation has been focused on U-S military sites in the region rather than
on civilians.
