Pakistan has deployed troops and imposed a curfew after deadly protests erupted over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader in U-S-Israeli strikes.
Officials announced a three-day curfew in the northern cities of Gilgit and Skardu, where police said at least 12 people died and 80 others were hurt after attacking U-N offices.
Gilgit-Baltistan government spokesman said Monday the situation was under control and that the curfew would remain in place until Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the U-S Embassy and its consulates in Karachi and Lahore canceled visa appointments and American Citizen Services after demonstrators tried to storm the building in Karachi.
