Premier Zhuo Rong Tai has instructed all central government agencies not to provide TPP at-large legislator Li Zhen-xiu with any information until her eligibility to serve as a lawmaker is confirmed.
The Premier has also directed the Central Election Commission, the Mailand Affairs Council and the Interior Ministry to deal with Li's case carefully.
Li, who was born in China, has submitted a certificate of renunciation of her Chinese citizenship to prove that her Chinese household was cancelled in 1993.
However, the M-A-C raised concerns about the certificate, saying it would only accept the date that the certificate was returned to authorities in 2025.
The MAC said that means Li had dual household registration when she signed up to run as a TPP at-large legislator in 2023.
Meanwhile former TPP Chair Ke Wen Zhe said that if Zhuo openly admits that so-called "Mainland wives" do not have political rights under the DPP, the TPP would relieve her of her post.
