Taiex stellar performance

Taiwan shares kicked off the Lunar New Year of the Horse with a strong rally.

Today the Taiex closed at 35-thousand 414, surging some 1-thousand 800 points
for the week — a gain of nearly 5.4 percent.

Despite having only four trading sessions this week, the market closed higher
every day and repeatedly set new records.

The total market capitalization of listed companies climbed to $115 trillion
NT, up $5.87 trillion from the previous week and a record high.
