Former NFA Director sentenced to 55 years

Former National Fire Agency Director Huang Ji-min has been sentenced to a
prison term of 55 years and 8 months on corruption charges.

The verdict is final.

The Supreme Court today rejected his appeals on seven counts, including
bribery, money laundering, and profiteering, finalizing convictions.

Prosecutors have been notified to initiate measures to prevent him from
fleeing, while other counts have been remanded for further trial.

A lower court already confiscated his illegal profits, at 20.76 million NT,
in 2017.
