Premier Zhuo Rong-tai has criticized the opposition-led Legislature for rejecting all four NCC nominees that the Cabinet proposed in November last year, calling it "absurd and outrageous."
Zhuo made the comment today when asked by the press if he will soon submit new nominees for the National Communications Commission again.
Under the N-C-C Organization Act, the commission is composed of seven members, and more than half of the commissioners must agree for resolutions to pass.
After four commissioners stepped down in mid-2024, the Executive Yuan announced the new nominees in July, 2025, but they were all rejected by the Legislature four months later.
Meanwhile TPP legislative caucus head Chen Qing-long (陳清龍) has suggested that the Executive Yuan allow ruling and opposition parties to jointly recommend suitable and neutral candidates for the N-C-C.
