Earthquake in northeast

A magnitude-5.6 earthquake took place at 12:37 PM today with the epicenter in
the sea off the coast of Yi-lan.

It was a relatively deep quake with a depth of 67 kilometers, and people
across most of Taiwan reported having felt it.

The intensity level in parts of greater Taipei, Keelung, Taoyuan, Hsin-chu,
Miaoli, Yilan and Hualian registered at level 3.

Taiwan High-speed Rail has not been affected, while Taipei Metro trains have
slowed down in response to the shaking.
