Worker dies in Innolux workplace accident in Tainan

A 41-year-old man has died in an industrial accident at an Innolux plant in
the Southern Taiwan Science Park.

The Tainan Fire Department says a male worker was found with a forehead
laceration after he was pinned down by a large machine.

He was transported to Chi Mei Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident has prompting a labor inspection by science park authorities.

Initial inspections indicate the worker had been operating the machine when a
suspected malfunction disengaged its safety interlock.

Innolux says it will conduct a comprehensive review of its standard operating
procedures and on-site safety protections.
