Trump orders release of US files on UFOs and "aliens"

U.S. President Donald Trump says he will direct federal agencies to begin
releasing government files related to aliens and unidentified flying objects.

Trump says he will ask Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and other agencies to make
the information public.

He says there is strong public interest and calls the topic extremely
interesting and important.

Trump also accused former President Barack Obama of wrongly discussing
classified information about aliens, without offering evidence.

Obama has said he saw no evidence during his presidency that
extraterrestrials made contact with the United States.

The Pentagon has investigated UFO reports for years and has said it found no
evidence that aliens visited Earth.

A Pentagon report last year said most sightings were misidentified ordinary
objects or natural phenomena.
