Traffic Smooth for LNY Eve

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications says traffic on national
highways remained mostly normal today as families traveled for Lunar New
Year’s Eve.

Despite a minor collision on National Highway 1, authorities report that
overall traffic volume is staying within expected levels.

The National Freeway Bureau says total traffic reached over 27 million
vehicle-kilometers by 11 a.m. today.

Officials expect the total volume for the day to hit 92 million
vehicle-kilometers.





Looking ahead to this afternoon, officials identified three areas likely to
see heavy congestion...

National Highway 5 heading south from Nangang to Toucheng



National Highway 6 heading west from East Caotun to the Wufeng System.



And National Highway 10 heading west from Renwu to Zuoying.
