Figure skater Li makes history for Taiwan at 2026 Olympic Winter Games

Nineteen-year-old figure skater Li Yu-hsiang has made history for Taiwan at the Winter Olympics in Milan after finishing 23rd in the men's competition.
Li is the first Taiwan figure skater to qualify for and compete in the Winter Olympics in 28 years.
He finished 23rd out of 24 in the men's singles category, with a combined score of 214.33.
Li is also the first figure skater to have qualifies for the Winter Olympics since David Liu in 1998.
Unlike Liu, who was born in Taiwan before moving to the United States at the age of six and training there, Li is the first figure skater based and trained in Taiwan to qualify for the Winter Games.
Taiwan is represented by a record 10 athletes across seven sports at the Winter Games in Milan.
