The Kaohsiung District Court has sentenced a woman to three months in prison for using a megaphone to blast profanities at her neighbors late at night or very early in the morning.
The court ruled that the woman set out to deliberately disturb her neighbors.
She was found guilty of frequently disturbing her neighbors on multiple occasions between May of 2023 to February of last year.
According to the court, the woman's actions disturbed the peace and sleep of not only residents on Mingfeng 6th Street, but also neighbors in the surrounding area.
The Kaohsiung District Prosecutors' Office says the woman denied any wrongdoing during her initial interrogation and claimed the neighbors disturbed her first.
However, she changed her plea during the trial and admitted wrongdoing.
The court found her guilty of violating the personal rights provisions of the Criminal Code, stating that her disruptive acts infringed on the rights and health of the community where she lived.
