A partner company of Line TV, a video streaming platform with more than 6 million users, reported that some users' data were hacked in late January.
They said the incident did not affect Line or related services, which operate on a separate server and information security system from Line TV.
Choco Media Entertainment Co., a service provider for Line TV, said yesterday that it discovered that part of its user data had been accessed without authorisation between January 24 and 26.
The leaked data include user IDs, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, birthdays, nicknames, and profile photos.
The company stressed that no financial information, such as bank account or credit card details, was compromised.
Line TV will grant free access to users as compensation.
It said it had fixed the system vulnerability and strengthened data protection.
