With the 2026 Milan–Cortina Winter Olympics set to open on February 6, Sports Minister Li Yang has hold a flag-presentation ceremony for 10 athletes qualified to compete at the event.
Li encouraged them the showcase the skills and experience built through years of hard training.
Taiwan has secured qualification spots for 10 athletes—surpassing its previous record. Women’s bobsleigh and men’s skeleton have qualified for the first time.
Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which a person rides a small sled, known as a skeleton bobsled, down a frozen track while lying face down and head-first.
Taiwan is expected to field a 37-member delegation, still seeking its first-ever medal at the Winter Games.
The 25th Winter Olympics, co-hosted by Milan and Cortina in Italy, will run from February 6th to 22nd.
Sports fans in Taiwan can watch live broadcast of the event on the Elta Technology channels on Chung-hwa Telecom's MOD or Hami Video.
