Taipei to Spend 150 Million NT Upgrading School Restrooms

Taipei education officials are planning to invest 150 million NT to improve restrooms at public elementary and junior high schools across the city.
The Department of Education says restroom upgrades were completed at 38 schools last year, focusing on better lighting, ventilation, hygiene, safety, and student-friendly design.
This year, funding will go toward renovations at another 31 schools.
Officials say many older restrooms were dark and poorly ventilated, and are now being redesigned with natural light, non-slip flooring, brighter interiors, and fixtures sized for students.
Some schools are also incorporating artistic and historical elements.
Education authorities say the goal is to support students ... with cleaner, safer and more comfortable environments.
