A political talk show that was to be hosted by former President Chen
Shui-bian has been abruptly pulled ahead of its planned YouTube debut.

The show was meant to be broadcast online by cable news provider Mirror TV.

Chen said the show was cancelled following an order by Premier Zhu Rong-tai..
who warned the former president not to air the show... and adding that he
could be sent back to prison if it was broadcast.

Chen had said the interview-based program would have featured "unprecedented
in-depth discussions."

It was scheduled to premiere at 10 o'clock Sunday morning on the Mirror TV
YouTube channel... Chen announced the cancellation about two hours before
airtime.

Chen said the National Communications Commission had cleared the program for
online broadcast, but the Agency of Corrections subsequently told him by
phone that Cho had ordered it not to air.

The Agency of Corrections says compliance requirements for inmates on medical
parole are enforced by correctional authorities in accordance with
regulations through inspections and supervision.

The agency has not confirmed whether it received any instructions from the
premier.
