AUS/PHIL investigating terror suspects

Now turning to international news...

Australian and Filipino authorities are investigating a recent trip to the
Philippines by two suspects in the terror attack at Bondi beach.

Officials are investigating whether the trip was linked to the mass shooting.

That's after Australian police said the attack was inspired by the Islamic
State group.

Filipino officials say there's no indication that the suspects received
training from local militants.

The southern region of Mindanao once attracted foreign militants aligned with
al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group to help train militants.

Officials in Manila said that the suspects stayed in the Philippines for most
of last month.
